Lead Test Cook

America's Test Kitchen is seeking a Lead Test Cook to join our Photo Team. This individual will be responsible for helping to lead a growing Photo team in executing photo & video shoots for Cook’s Illustrated, Cook’s Country, Books, Special Issues, Social Media, Marketing, etc. This includes planning shot lists with art directors, editors and producers, placing shopping orders, prepping and cooking recipes, and working with food stylists during the shoots.

This position is site-based and requires an early start time (7:00AM to 7:30) as well as the ability to participate in videos, behind-the-scene and/or camera work during filming of our two television programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Execution of assigned photo and video shoots
  • Accountable for planning shot lists, ordering and receiving of ingredients for assigned photo/video shoots 
  • Maintain standards of quality and consistency through proper training and evaluation of new and current team members
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of the Photo Team through input and discussion in weekly meetings
  • Management of daily prep and mise lists through delegation of assignments and work details as seen fit

  • Ability to build relationships and work across multiple departments.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and comfortably in an environment in which decisions are more often made by the group than by the individual. 

Education and Experience You Should Have:

  • Degree from an accredited culinary arts program (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 4 years cooking experience and demonstrated ability to precisely follow directions.
